The Midui Glacier is in the upper reaches of the Midui River, which is a secondary tributary of the lower reaches of the Yarlung Zangbo River. It flows into the Palong Zangbo from the south bank of the Palong Zangbo at the 84-kilometer route of the Sichuan-Tibet Highway. Midui Glacier is close to the Sichuan-Tibet Highway. Midui Glacier is formed by the confluence of world-class ice waterfalls. Each waterfall is more than 800 meters high and 1,000 meters wide. There is also a virgin forest between the two waterfalls. The lower section of the glacier has passed through the mixed coniferous and broad-leaved forest belt. It is the most important marine glacier in Tibet, one of the three largest marine glaciers in China, and the lowest glacier in the world. The latitude of the Midui Glacier is 29° north latitude, but the end of the glacier is lower than the glacier in the Bogdo Mountains of the Tianshan Mountains, which is nearly 44° north latitude.
