Minzhuling Temple is one of the three major temples of the Nyingma Sect (Red Sect) in Tibet. It is located in Zhanang County, Shannan, Lhasa City. In 1676 AD, it was founded by Dedalingpa Jigme Dorje, a terma master of the Nyingma sect.
Minzhuling Monastery is one of the two famous monasteries of the Nyingma sect in former Tibet (the other is Dorje Drak Monastery). Due to the different treasures taught by the two monasteries, two small branches of the Nyingma sect were formed. Minzhuling Monastery mainly teaches "Southern Tibet", and incidentally also teaches Buddhist classics passed down since the "Three Sus" (namely: the Great Sur Sakyamuni, the Little Sur Xiraozhapa, and Dropuba). . The inheritance of the temple owner is based on father-son or blood relationship. This is of great historical value for studying the rise, development, decline and inheritance of the Nyingma sect in Tibetan Buddhism.
