景点介绍

Lamaling Temple is located in Jianqie Village, Bujiu Township, Linzhi County, Linzhi Prefecture, Tibet, next to Provincial Road 306. The temple is also called Sangduo Bairi Temple, which means "copper-colored auspicious mountain" or "copper-topped lotus temple". Lamaling Temple is located in a mountain depression surrounded by forests, 30 kilometers southeast of Bayi Town, where the Nyingchi Prefecture of Tibet is located. The golden dome of Lamaling Temple complements the green pines and cypresses. Around the temple's sutra hall and monk's residence, chrysanthemums and galsang flowers of various colors compete for beauty, and the sound of cymbals, tambourines and drums, as well as the rich and crisp sound of chanting, echo in the valley. Two gray argali sheep "adopted" by the temple lama since childhood, wearing small bells around their necks, forage on the temple's grass dam. This ancient temple, built in the late 1930s, belongs to the Nyingma Sect (commonly known as the Red Sect), one of the four major sects of Tibetan Buddhism.
