It is a famous sacred lake and holy place of the Red Sect (Ningma Sect of Tibetan Buddhism). Although Basongcuo is hidden in a ravine with no traffic and far away from the town, it is widely known to the outside world for its lush forests and the pool of clear water among the towering mountains. It has become one of the earliest known scenic spots in Linzhi area. one.

The water of Basongcuo Lake is crystal clear, and the surrounding snow-capped mountains are reflected in it. Sand gulls and white cranes float on the surface of the lake. The lake is transparent and you can see fish swimming in it, which is very interesting. Every spring, the flowers bloom all around the lake, and the snowy peaks are arrayed and reflected in the lake. The scenery is extremely pleasant. In autumn, the mountains are red, the forests are dyed, the sky is blue, the fiery red maple leaves reflect the bright sunshine, and are reflected on the blue lake. The scenery is breathtaking. There is a small island called Tashi Island about a hundred meters away from the shore. Legend has it that the island is a "hollow island", that is, the island is not connected to the bottom of the lake and floats on the lake. Although it is just a legend, it makes people feel magical. When you go to the island, you might as well try stamping your feet on some places on the island to see if you feel hollow.

On the island is the Tang Dynasty building "Cozong Gongba Temple", which is a famous Red Sect Nyingma sect temple in Tibet. It was built in the late Tang Dynasty and has a history of more than 1,500 years. Cuozong Temple is a civil structure with two floors. The main temple is dedicated to Padmasambhava, Thousand-Hand Avalokitesvara and the Golden Boy and Jade Girl. There is a peach and pine tree in the south of the temple. In spring, the peach blossoms and green pine trees complement each other, which is really beautiful.

On the south bank of Basongcuo Lake, beside a small stream, there is also a "Qiuzi Cave" full of magical legends. Legend has it that this small cave was once blessed by Master Padmasambhava, and it is very effective to come here to pray for a child. There is also a 15-square-meter boulder in the northwest of the lake. There is a hole in the center of the boulder that can be drilled by one person. It is said that drilling this hole can eliminate disasters and cure diseases. Not far from here, there is the "Lotus Padmasambhava Caves" on the beach. On the west bank of the lake is the "King Gesar Testing Place". It is said that on the 15th day of April in the Tibetan calendar every year, a long white belt will grow on the center line of the lake bottom under the blue water. It is widely believed by the locals that it is dedicated to A huge white hada of King Gesar.
