Zizhu Temple itinerary

Day 1: Lhasa ~ Nagsuo County

Day 2: Suo County ~ Dingqing County ~ Zizhu Temple. check in to a hotel

Zizhu Temple:Some people say that if Tibet is a pure land, then Zizhu Temple is the pure land among the pure lands. Walking through the beautiful snow-capped mountains in eastern Tibet, along the winding winding mountain road, you finally arrive at the 4,800-meter-high mountain peak like an eagle. Holy Land, Zizhu Temple, one of the highest monasteries in Tibet, and one of the oldest and most important temples of Yongzhong Bon Religion.

Day 3: Dingqing County ~ Leiwuqi. spa

Among the many hot springs in Qamdo, Yiri Hot Spring is the most famous. The hot spring is located in Leiwuqi County. Yiri Hot Spring is surrounded by mountains, with green grass and wild flowers at the foot of the mountain, and dense forests on the mountain. The entire hot spring is distributed in a narrow area about 100 meters long. There are currently 6 hot springs available, with water temperatures ranging from 20-40 degrees Celsius. The scenery here is beautiful, the environment is elegant and the air is fresh. Because the hot springs have extremely obvious curative effects in treating rheumatoid arthritis, fractures, hemiplegia, calcium deficiency in children, and skin diseases, patients from both inside and outside the area come here to bathe and receive treatment no matter whether it is day or night. Qamdo's unique geographical location determines its natural landscape to be majestic, precipitous and peculiar: the towering Hengduan Mountains run from north to south, and large rivers such as the Lancang River, Nu River, and Jinsha River rush through deep mountain canyons. Due to the complex topography of this area, obvious differences in altitude, high mountains, deep valleys, and rapid waters, the natural scenery shows an obvious vertical zone pattern. Therefore, it is known as the natural beauty of "one mountain can see four seasons" and "ten miles have different weather". The special geographical structure of the Hengduan Mountains has also created a variety of "Sacred Mountains and Sacred Lakes", and beautiful folklore has added a lot of color to the "Sacred Mountains and Sacred Lakes". According to Tibetan historical records, there are 25 famous sacred mountains in Kham, most of which are located in Qamdo. For example, Shengqin Langzha Mountain in Jiangdagangtuo, Tsavarong Mountain in Zuogong Basu area, Bojing Mountain in Leiwuqi, Langkaze in Basu and other sacred mountains. There are also eighteen famous Panyan Mountains in Kham District, and the best one is Gubu Mountain in Qamdo County. Zizhu Mountain in the Dingqingjueen area is a sacred place in the eyes of Bon believers. Deqing Pozhang Mountain in Leiwuqi, Guobu Baizong Mountain in Jiangda, Danda Mountain in Bianba, Zhongri Mountain in Gongjue, Xielairi Mountain in Luolong, Baixi Mountain in Qamdo, Bajie Mountain in Basu, etc. It is not only a holy place for religious believers to worship, but also a good place for tourism. In Qamdo, there is the Karuo site, a well-preserved Neolithic cultural site in southwest my country, which has a history of more than 4,000 years; the famous Yellow Sect temple Qiangbalin Temple is one of the largest temples in Kham and the current National People's Congress The temple where the Standing Committee Vice-Member of the Standing Committee of the Living Buddha Di Pamala-Gelelangjie resides; the Gupu Cave in Qiongka Township, Qamdo County. On the top of a mountain with an altitude of 5,400 meters, the cave is winding and deep, stretching for nearly 10 kilometers. Stalactites are in various shapes, and there are colorful stones scattered outside the cave; Meili Snow Mountain, located in Zuogong County, is 6,740 meters above sea level. It is regarded as a sacred mountain by local farmers and herdsmen. It is also a famous natural scenic spot, attracting many Chinese and foreign mountaineering explorers. Every year There is an endless stream of believers who come to worship Buddha. The "Zhongque" Festival in Wuqi Town on the fifteenth day of the sixth month of the Tibetan calendar every year is a famous folk festival in the Qamdo area. People from this region and other places such as Sichuan, Qinghai and Yunnan Diqing gather here to pay homage to temples. Buddha and sacred mountains were visited, and material exchange activities were held. The scene was very lively.

Day 4: Leiwuqi ~ Ranwu Lake. check in to a hotel

Leiwuqi:  Affiliated to Qamdo City, Tibet Autonomous Region, it is located in the northeastern part of the Tibet Autonomous Region, between 95°49'~96°58' east longitude and 30°58'~31°58' north latitude. It is connected to Nangqian County, Qinghai Province to the north and Dingqing to the west. County, bordering Basu County and Luolong County to the south, and Karuo District of Qamdo City to the east. In the first half of 2015, Leiwuqi County's GDP was 319 million yuan, completing 42% of the full-year plan and an increase of 20% compared with 2014.


The maximum distance from northwest to southeast of Leiwuqi County is 116 kilometers, and the maximum distance from southwest to northeast is 71 kilometers. Leiwuqi County has a total area of 6355.48 square kilometers. It has 2 towns and 8 townships under its jurisdiction, with a total population of 49,870 (2010). Within the county, there are scenic spots such as Leiwuqi County, Yiri Hot Spring, Jiu Mi Chan Temple, Beng Le Cave, and Dequ Phozhang Mountain.


Day 5: Ranwu Lake ~ Lulang Town

Ranwu Lake, also known as Ranwucuo in Tibetan (Cuo is the pronunciation of Lake in Tibetan), is located in Ranwu Township, the southwest corner of Basu County, Qamdo City, about 90 kilometers away from Baima Town, the county seat. The cause is a barrier lake formed due to landslides or mudslides blocking river channels. There are many barrier lakes formed in this way in the southeastern Tibet where geological movements are active. Ranwu Lake is well-known to many travelers traveling along the Sichuan-Tibet Highway because it is close to the Sichuan-Tibet Highway.


Day 6: Lulang ~ Grand Canyon

Lulang is a natural scenic spot located in Lulang Town, Bayi District, Nyingchi City, 70 kilometers east of Bayi Town. Lulang means "Dragon King Valley" and "the place where the gods live". It is known as the "natural oxygen bar" and "biological gene bank".


Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon: The Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is a horseshoe-shaped canyon surrounding Namjagbarwa Peak and is also the world's grandest canyon. The scenery in the valley is diverse, you can see Namjagbarwa, Yajiang Niyang River, ancient villages and so on. Shortlisted for the "China National Geographic" China Canyon selection, it attracts many tourists to come and watch.

Parts of the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon are currently open to tourists. There are mainly land tours, water tours and hiking. You need to take the vehicles and boats operated by the scenic spot in the scenic area, so it is more convenient to buy a package ticket.


Day 7: Grand Canyon ~ Basongcuo

Basongcuo: Basongcuo, also known as Cuogao Lake, means "green water" in Tibetan. The lake is more than 3,700 meters above sea level and covers an area of more than 6,000 acres. It is located in the upper reaches of the Ba River, more than 50 kilometers away from Gongbu Jiangda County, Nyingchi Prefecture. In the high gorge and deep valley is a famous sacred lake and holy place of the Red Sect. Basongcuo was rated as a national scenic spot in 1994 and included in the world tourist attractions (spots) by the World Tourism Organization. In 2000, it was rated as a national AAAA-level scenic spot. In 2001, it was awarded the title of National Forest Park by the Ministry of Forestry.


Day 8: Basongcuo ~ Sijin Lacuo ~ Lhasa

Sijin Lacuo, the sacred lake where the local people call the "King of the Rich Hundred Dragons" lives, is located in the southeast of Riduo Township, Mozhugongka County, and north of Zengqi Township, Sangri County, Shannan Prefecture. It is about 6 kilometers away from the Sichuan-Tibet Highway (National Highway 318) kilometers, 66 kilometers away from Mozhugongkar County, 124 kilometers away from Lhasa City, and 4,500 meters above sea level. The Tibetan language means the powerful sacred lake. The terrain is like a treasure tray and is surrounded by peaks. Every year on the 15th day of the sixth lunar month in the Tibetan calendar, the Panchen Lama, the Dalai Lama and the Drikung Living Buddha all come to the sacred lake. To worship, many gold and silver treasures were put into the lake to repay the gift of the lake.
