Visit Jokhang Temple on the 2nd and stay overnight at Lhasa Thangka Hotel

The Jokhang Temple, also known as "Zulakang" and "Juekang" (meaning Buddhist temple in Tibetan), is located in the center of the old city of Lhasa. It is a Tibetan Buddhist temple built by the Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo. The reason why Lhasa is a "holy place" "The reputation is related to this Buddha statue. The temple was originally called "Jhasa", and later Jhasa became the name of the city and evolved into the current "Lhasa". After the Jokhang Temple was built, it underwent repeated modifications and expansions in the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties before it reached its current scale.

The full name of Sera Temple is "Sela Mahayana Temple", one of the six main temples of the Gelug Sect of Tibetan Buddhism. Together with Drepung Monastery and Ganden Monastery, it is known as the three major monasteries in Lhasa. It is the latest one to be built among the three major monasteries. Sera Monastery is a national key cultural relic protection unit. It is located at the foothills of Sera Uzi Mountain, 3 kilometers away from the northern suburbs of Lhasa. It has been a place where eminent monks and living Buddhas have given lectures since ancient times. There are many small temples for monks and nuns surrounding it. To the east of the temple and to the south of the temple are Pubuche Temple, Miqiongreniku Temple, Gongbasa Temple, Pabengang Temple, Tashi Qulin Temple, Qusang Temple, Gali Nun Temple; behind the temple are Zhukang Richo, Sera Choding Temple and so on.

Yongbulakang, meaning "mother's womb" in Tibetan, is the first palace in Tibetan history and one of the earliest buildings in Tibet. It is located in the southeast of Zedang Town, Shannan Prefecture, and towers on the top of Tashi Ciri Mountain on the east bank of the Yalong River. . According to legend, it was built by Yongzhongben believers in the 2nd century BC for the first Tibetan king Nietri Zampu. It later became the summer palace of Songtsen Gampo and Princess Wencheng in Shannan. It was changed to a Huangjiao temple when the fifth Dalai Lama came. Yongbulakang mainly enshrines the statue of Sakyamuni Buddha. The murals in the palace vividly depict the historical stories of Tibet's first king, first building, and first piece of cultivated land. Yongbulakang is divided into two parts. The front part is a multi-story building, and the rear part is a square high-rise watchtower connected to the front part. In the 5th century AD, during the reign of Tibetan King Tuotuo Nianzan, it is said that a Buddhist sutra fell from the sky and happened to fall on the top of Yongbulakang Palace. No one could recognize it at the time. Some sages asserted that someone would be able to interpret this book by the 7th or 8th century AD. So this book is well preserved in Yumbulakang.


Go to Shigatse on the 5th and stay overnight at Shigatse Hotel

Shigatse, a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of the Tibet Autonomous Region, is located in the southwest border of the People's Republic of China and the southwest of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It borders the Ngari Prefecture to the west, Nagqu Prefecture to the north, Lhasa City and Shannan Prefecture to the east, and is connected to Nepal, Bhutan, India and other countries. The national border is 1,753 kilometers long, the land area is 182,000 square kilometers, and the average altitude is more than 4,000 meters. Shigatse had a population of 720,000 in 2014 and governed 1 municipal district and 17 counties.

Xigaze has a history of more than 600 years since it was founded. It is the second largest city in Tibet, the former political and religious center of Houzang, and the residence of the Panchen Lama of all generations. With its beautiful natural scenery and unique Tibetan life, Shigatse is known as "the most beautiful manor".


On the 6th, visit Tashi Lhunpo Monastery and stay overnight at Shigatse Hotel.

The full name of Tashilhunpo Monastery is "Tashilhunbu Baijideqinqu Tangjielnan Bajwarin", which means "auspicious Sumeru gathers blessings and excels all other states". Tashilhunpo Monastery has a history of more than 500 years. It is located on the Nyima Ri Mountain in the northwest of Shigatse City. It is built on the mountain with towering halls and magnificent momentum. It is one of the six major temples of the Gelug Sect of Tibetan Buddhism. This auspicious temple has left the world in awe with its magnificent architecture, exquisite art and long history. It is the crystallization of the great wisdom of the Tibetan people.


Return to Lhasa on the 7th and stay overnight at Lhasa Thangka Hotel
